Common Questions
How many lights does a typical church stage need?
A modest stage (20–30 ft wide) typically needs 6–12 front wash fixtures, 4–8 back wash or uplights, and optionally 2–4 moving heads for dynamic looks. We design based on your stage size and budget.
What is DMX and do we need it?
DMX is the standard control protocol for stage lighting. A DMX console (or software) lets one operator control all fixtures from a single location, with scenes saved and recalled instantly. It's essential for consistent, repeatable looks every service.
LED vs conventional fixtures — is LED worth it for churches?
Yes. LED fixtures have no lamps to replace (20,000+ hour life), use 80% less power, and offer full color mixing. The payback period on the energy savings alone is typically 2–3 years.
Do you program lighting scenes?
Yes — we program your standard scenes (Sunday morning, special event, prayer service) and train your tech team before we leave. Scene names are labeled clearly on the console.
Do you fly PA speakers or handle extreme/long cable runs yourselves?
For structural rigging — flying PA or line-array speakers, or other equipment from trusses or ceilings — and extreme or long-distance cable runs, we bring in a licensed third-party rigging or electrical partner as part of the project. We manage the coordination and integration, but that specialized structural or electrical work itself is subcontracted for safety and code compliance.
