Stream 4K on the patio, run security cameras in the yard, and support every smart device outside your home — with the same speed and reliability as your indoor network.
A consumer WiFi router loses 90% of its signal through a single exterior wall. By the time the signal reaches your patio — if it reaches at all — you’re looking at buffering on a 1080p stream, constant reconnects for your security cameras, and smart home devices that drop offline the moment you step outside. A proper outdoor WiFi installation means a dedicated weatherproof access point wired directly to your router via buried Cat6, delivering full indoor-equivalent speed to your backyard, pool area, and garage. We install UniFi U7 Outdoor and Eero Outdoor access points for Lancaster County homes — rated IPX6, Wi-Fi 7 capable, and invisible when mounted correctly.
We handle equipment selection, installation, wired backhaul, and full network configuration — in a single visit.
Enterprise-grade outdoor APs rated IP66 for all-weather use. Wi-Fi 7 with 4 spatial streams and a directional super antenna for extended range. Mounted under the eave or on a post, powered via PoE+ — no separate power outlet needed. Managed through UniFi Network for per-device bandwidth control, IoT VLAN isolation, and real-time signal maps. The right choice for homes with security cameras, multiple outdoor smart home devices, or anyone who wants full network visibility.
UniFiFor homes already on Eero mesh — the Eero Outdoor unit extends your existing network outside with zero new apps. IP67 weatherproof, wired backhaul for reliable speed, same network name as indoors — devices roam seamlessly inside and out. No separate controller, no new dashboard. Everything manages from the same Eero app you already use. Ideal for homeowners who want outdoor coverage added to an existing Eero system without added complexity.
EeroWireless backhaul from an indoor router to an outdoor AP loses 40–60% of throughput. We run direct-burial Cat6 from your network closet or router to the outdoor access point location — under decks, through landscaping beds, or in weatherproof conduit along the house exterior. Wired backhaul means your outdoor network is as fast as your indoor connection, not bottlenecked by interference.
Wired BackhaulPool equipment increasingly connects to smart home automation — heat pump schedulers, robotic cleaners, underwater LED controllers, and poolside cameras. We install a weatherproof AP with line-of-sight coverage to the entire pool deck and equipment pad, sized for every device you have today and room for what you add next. One correctly placed outdoor AP handles the full pool environment.
Pool CoverageSecurity cameras are the most demanding outdoor WiFi application — they stream continuously, 24/7, and need consistent low-latency connectivity. We configure a dedicated IoT VLAN for cameras and smart devices, isolating them from your main network for security and giving them dedicated bandwidth for uninterrupted recording. Compatible with all major camera brands: Ubiquiti Protect, Reolink, Arlo, Ring, and Nest.
Camera NetworkSmart outdoor lighting, video doorbells, patio automation, and Sonos outdoor speakers all need reliable WiFi. A properly designed outdoor network means your front door camera never goes offline, your outdoor Sonos doesn’t buffer, and your landscape lighting automations trigger every time. We configure channel widths, 2.4GHz/5GHz band steering, and mesh roaming for seamless device handoff from inside to out.
Smart DevicesWe don’t just install hardware — we configure the network for outdoor performance and smart home compatibility.
Security cameras, smart locks, and outdoor sensors run on a dedicated network segment — isolated from your personal devices for security, with their own bandwidth allocation for uninterrupted recording.
2.4GHz and 5GHz managed together. Your laptop on the patio gets 5GHz speed; your outdoor smart plug stays on 2.4GHz for range. Automatic, no manual switching.
Walk from your living room to the backyard without a reconnect. Indoor and outdoor APs share the same network — devices hand off transparently as you move.
Every outdoor speaker, TV, camera, and smart device you add after the install connects instantly. The network is sized for your full outdoor room, not just what’s plugged in today.
All prices include weatherproof outdoor hardware, Cat6 wiring, professional installation, and network configuration.
One weatherproof outdoor AP (UniFi U7 Outdoor or Eero Outdoor), wired Cat6 backhaul to your existing router, mounted and configured. Covers most Lancaster County patio and deck environments.
Outdoor access point with dedicated IoT network segment for cameras and smart devices, band steering, and seamless roaming configuration. Ideal for homes with security cameras or multiple outdoor smart home devices.
Multiple outdoor APs for large properties, pools, detached garages, or extended yard coverage. Buried Cat6 to each location, UniFi Network management, per-device analytics, and full smart home integration.
Prices include hardware, installation, Cat6 wiring, and network configuration. Final quote depends on property size, number of APs, and cable run length. We assess your property and provide a written proposal.
We serve Lancaster County homes from historic city properties to newer construction in Lititz and Manheim — no trip fees within the county.
Consumer WiFi extenders (repeaters) cut throughput in half because they receive and retransmit on the same radio — 500 Mbps becomes 250 Mbps at best, and less in practice due to interference. They also create a separate network name that your devices don’t roam to automatically, so you end up manually switching networks. A wired outdoor access point delivers full-speed internet to the patio with zero throughput loss and seamless roaming from inside to out. It performs completely differently.
UniFi U7 Outdoor is enterprise-grade — Wi-Fi 7, 4 spatial streams, full network management with per-device control, VLAN configuration for IoT isolation, and real-time signal maps. Right choice for homes with security cameras, IoT devices that need network separation, or anyone who wants granular control. Eero Outdoor extends an existing Eero mesh and is the simpler path for Eero households — same app, zero learning curve. Both require wired Cat6 backhaul for best performance. We recommend based on your existing setup.
Usually yes, but we do it cleanly. One small penetration through the exterior wall or foundation, sealed with weatherproof caulk and an indoor low-voltage wall plate. For decks and patios, we often route under the floor deck or along the soffit to minimize visible runs. We photograph the route and walk you through it before running any cable.
UniFi U7 Outdoor has a specified range of 600+ feet in ideal conditions. In real Lancaster County residential environments — trees, fencing, and structures — expect reliable coverage to 100–200 feet from the AP, which covers most backyards. For larger properties or detached structures (garages, pool houses), we install a second AP with its own Cat6 run rather than trying to extend from a single unit.
Yes — and this is exactly why outdoor WiFi is part of our outdoor room bundle. A Sonos outdoor speaker system, Apple TV or Fire TV Stick on the patio, and outdoor smart home devices all need reliable WiFi. The outdoor AP is included in our full outdoor entertainment system build, or added as a standalone upgrade to an existing outdoor setup.
Yes. UniFi U7 Outdoor is rated for −22°F to 131°F — Lancaster County winters are well within spec. The unit is IP66 certified against dust and water jets. The only cold-weather consideration is that PoE+ power draw is the same regardless of temperature — no heating needed. We’ve installed outdoor APs on Lancaster County homes that have operated through multiple winters without issue.
We assess your outdoor space, plan the cable route, and give you a written proposal. Most outdoor WiFi installs are completed in half a day.
